Click the “schedule” button in the menu.

This is where you will see available time slots, self-schedule, and see what RTs are already scheduled.

We currently require at least a 2-hour shift.  Please do not sign up for anything less than that.

“Schedule” vs. “Gap Schedule

As of August 2019, we now have a “Schedule/Gaps” button that will show up once you are on the main “schedule” screen.  It looks like this:

If you have the “schedule” button selected, the schedule you see will include all other RTs.  This allows you to see who is, was, or will be on call at any point in time.  It does not yet allow you to see their state licenses, but at least it gives you an idea of people you could contact.

A newer update, and of great value to you as an RT, will be the “gaps” button.

This will show you a modified, personalized schedule of openings that pertain just to you. It will show only gray blocks we have coverage, or white areas you can sign up for.  Again, this is personalized for you based on your state licenses.  Everyone will see a different gap schedule.

The great thing about the gap schedule?  Any “white” blocks of time where we don’t have coverage are free for you to sign up for!  You don’t have to worry about whether or not anyone else is scheduled during those times.  If it is white on the gap schedule – go for it!

Please note, because there are usually not a lot of RTs signed up on the “training server”, you may not see much difference here.  It will become very apparent on the “live server”, as you can see in the graphic above.

To schedule for a block of time:

There are 2 ways to schedule a block of time.

  1. Click on any empty space in the schedule.  This includes little empty slivers between blocks in a full schedule.  You can even click and drag to pre-populate the “Schedule Block Modal”.
  2. Click on the “New Block” button.

Either action will bring up the “Schedule Block Modal”.

The Schedule Block Modal will allow you to set the start date, start time, end date, end time, and environment.  Unless you are an admin, you will not be able to select another respiratory therapist.

What is the “Environment”

The rtNOW app has been created with the ability to “white-label” the software to a health system.  This means that they may purchase the app, and use their own RTs.  In the rare instance that you work both for rtNOW, and a facility that has the app white-labeled, you will select the appropriate facility in the “Environment” drop-down menu.

However, for 99% of our agents, please make sure the “Environment” says “rtNOW”.  This will make sure the calendar is relevant to you, our employee.
